Blueberry Pancake Morning

In a kitchen quite small
On a bright sunny day,
A stack of tall pancakes
Decided to play.
They wiggled and wobbled,
They jiggled with ease,
They smelled like warm mornings
And syrup and breeze.
But oh! The blueberries—
Plump, purple, and round—
Came tumbling and bumbling
All over the ground!
They bounced on the table,
They rolled on the floor,
They giggled and scrambled
Right out the front door!
“Come back!” cried the pancakes,
“You’re part of our crew!”
“We need all your sweetness!”
“We can’t flip without you!”
But the berries just snickered,
“We’ll join you—perhaps…
If you promise us syrup
In great gooey slaps!”
So back in they tumbled,
Those cheeky small spheres,
And the pancakes surrendered
With sticky good cheers.
And breakfast was magic—
A stack full of fun,
With blueberries dancing
Till the very last one.
